Chocolate Cake
Aktualisiert: 25. Aug. 2020
It's the last day of 2015 and we're making it a sweet goodbye by eating chocolate cake for breakfast. There are too many reasons why we absolutely need to share this recipe with you guys: This beauty right here is a perfectly dense and moist flourless chocolate cake that requires no more than 5 ingredients and only a pan and a spatula. And if you're feeling extra festive like we are today, you'll smother this beauty with chocolate sauce and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds, ohhh baby! Treat yourself to a chocolatey last-day-of-the-year breakfast! We know you want to! Happy baking & a happy New Year! We hope you celebrate with your loved ones with a lot of bubbles & laughs! We can't wait to see what 2016 has to offer! Xx, Sue & Sibylle WHAT YOU'LL NEED – 250g dark chocolate – 160g butter – 150g ground almonds – 300g sugar – 4 eggs
– a dash of salt
1 – Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. 2 – In a pan, melt the chocolate and the butter over medium heat. Take the pan off the stove and let it cool. 3 – Add the ground almonds and sugar and stir well with a spatula. 4 – Add one egg at a time and keep stirring. 5 – Pour the batter into a baking dish lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20 minutes. The cake should have a crust on top, but still wiggle when you give it a little shake. -> For the festive chocolate sauce you only need to melt some chocolate and some butter and a pinch of salt over medium heat and poor it over the cake. The more the better. Then add whatever topping – we love pomegranate seeds!
