December has finally brought a chill to the air that seems to be staying, and a craving for homemade comfort food right along with it. Like this creamy wonderfulness that is Mac’n’Cheese made by PAUL & LULU. Our love for this pot of golden cheesy deliciousness is big. Like Real. Big.Just imagine it: delicate, saucy, macaroni topped with white cheddar and grana padano to infinity and beyond… Do we even need to keep talking?Inspired by PAUL & LULU, we wanted to try and recook this delicious dish. While we absolutely LOVE creating recipes that are fun and unique and different and inspiring and experimenting with ingredients and spices from all over the world, simple and familiar dishes are our favorite. And this Mac’n’Cheese recipe is just that. Basics like this are why we love food. And by that we mean LOVE FOOD and we’re sure that you will love it too... Happy cooking!Xx, Sue & SibylleWHAT YOU'LL NEED:– 1 package macaroni– 3 tablespoons butter – 3 cloves garlic– 2 tablespoons flour– 1 small teaspoon fleur de sel– 250 ml milk– 250g cheddar cheese and grano padano1 – Cook the macaroni according to package directions.2 – Melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and fry for about a minute, until slightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic. 3 – Add the flour and salt and stir for another minute or two. 4 – Slowly add the milk, gently whisking to incorporate with the flour and butter. Cook for about 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly. 5 – Add the cheese and stir until melted.6 – Drain the macaroni, keeping some of the water. Combine the macaroni with the cheese sauce, add in extra water in case the consistency needs a little thinning out. 7 – Season with salt and pepper and serve with some extra cheese.
